The moon rises with the sole purpose of shining a spotlight on the strength that courses through your veins. It is you the stars twinkle for in the night sky. You are a precious gift that the earth celebrates. Life abounds around you. You are a celebration of life because your ancestors were the original kings and queens who celebrated all life given by Mother Africa. Whether it be birds in the sky, animals upon the land or creatures of the sea, they honor you because your ancestors honored them.

You are a descendant of your immediate Queen and Queen Mother. Look into their faces and see the strength and sacrifice made over the years. See the succession of life from the birth canal to you. Your destiny is no small feat; it is your foremothers wrapped in you. Look into the face of your aunt and see your royal lineage. Look deeper into their faces. That is the mirror that will show you your value. Look into the faces of those who love you and see the love designed to get you to the next stage in your evolution. You are the carrier of life for our people. Without you, there would be no lineage to remember.

You are the ambassador of Mother Africa. A young woman charged with being better than the world believes she can be. You are the light that will change how the world looks at Black America. It is okay to make that change happen one person at a time. You are that person!

If you know who you are, your BLACK GIRL MAGIC will change those around you. Mother Africa lives inside you for a reason. She waited while the world allowed its vanity to bring Trojan horses into their homes. We have cast open the door, and change is coming into the world. You are the key to that change.

It is time for you to rise so the world recognizes you as the gift Mother Africa keeps giving.

More than the world expects you to be, but NEVER less than it destines you to be.

BLACK GIRL MAGIC is not new. It is as old as man has walked the earth. You are THE most important piece of evolution God ever created. I challenge you to wear your invisible crown as a symbol of the love and respect you have for yourself.

The women surrounding you wear their crowns with pride. It is now your turn to realize what the crown represents in the lineage of our ancestors who carried it for you. Channel the dreams and hopes of those who came before you and walk into your future for those who will come after you.
